Branden Gunst, owner/operator of Brickworx, brings almost twenty four years of building and trade experience to each and every job. In addition to his masonry skills, Branden has additional experience as a qualified fitter/welder, quantity surveying, materials lab technician, CAD operator and completed an engineering apprenticeship in New Zealand before heading to Australia and the United Kingdom.
Branden completed his Fitter/Welder Trade Certificate in 1988 while in the Bay of Plenty. He spent a year in Australia working on various construction projects before moving to the UK in 1990. While in England, Branden completed a one-year course on materials science with a focus on bricklaying, construction design and infrastructure requirements. He also gained hands-on skills in quantity surveying, and computer-aided design (CAD). After four years of building his skills in the various masonry and construction trades, Branden returned to Tauranga in 1995 initially working for a building company before securing a job with City Bricklayers. He formed Brickworx in 1998.and successfully operated in Tauranga for four years, further honing his masonry and project management skill set.
Branden re-located to Queenstown in 2002 and brought his company with him. Since then, he has completed a wide variety of masonry projects ranging through solid block masonry homes to specialty projects such as a commercial spa pool complex and commercial/retail unit construction to smaller jobs such as fireplaces and retaining walls.
Brickworx has experienced bricklayers and blocklayers on call so that they can scale up to large projects. Brickworx's strength is the efficiency that it is small enough so that each job receives Branden's personal attention yet large enough to complete major jobs in a timely manner. By adhering to well-established and consistent procedures, Brickworx can deliver outstanding results that will satisfy the most discerning client.
Brickworx has built up a reputation for skilled workmanship, neat and clean worksite habits and efficient operations. Brickworx carries NZ$2 million dollars worth of public liability insurance. They are also members of the Southern Lakes Brick & Block Layers Association.
